Three industries that will be transformed by AI

2023 will be the year when AI goes mainstream. Over the next few months to years, we will see AI tools embed themselves into every aspect of our lives, from our home assistants to our workplace practices. With some tools already here and some on the horizon, this blog summarizes the ways AI is going to reshape three industries over the coming years.

Content Generation

Marketers, PR executives, and anyone whose day-to-day activity involves generating copy are about to have their working practices turned upside down.

Tools like Neuraltext and Anyword are reshaping the entire copywriting process. Neuraltext is an AI tool for content creation that includes AI copywriting, SEO content, and keyword research features. With its tools, Neuraltext can help users generate ideas, create content, and optimize content for SEO.

Anyword helps users create copy for ads, emails and landing pages. It is used for generating Facebook ads, Google Adwords, and LinkedIn ads.

For those of us who work with Microsoft Office every day, the potential of this system cannot be overstated. If it is able to do the things Microsoft has trailed, we will be creating PowerPoint presentations on the fly based on Word Documents, analyzing Excel data through natural language, and summarizing meetings and automatically organizing follow-up activity.

Customer Services

AI has been used in Customer Service chat bots for a while, but until now they’ve entirely unsatisfactory. This is because they’ve been limited to pre-set responses and trained on a small range of tasks.

But, with natural language chat bots, powered by the likes of Chat GPT, chat is about to become the frontline of customer services.

With AI tools trained on a company’s customer service history, the potential for handling customer queries is a no-brainer.

Meanwhile AI-powered tools for sentiment analysis will better understand customer needs and preferences, allowing companies to tailor their customer service approach to individual customers.

Over the phone, AI-powered speech recognition tools can be used to as the first port-of-call for customer queries. Leaving, probably smaller, teams of humans to handle more complex cases.

AI is predicted to handle around 30% of customer queries by 2026. Whilst the same report also suggests that customers will be using AI to make orders on their behalf, this could look something like Google’s AI assistant, which can make real phone calls.

Music

You could rightly ask, hasn’t the music industry been through enough over the last 30 years? Music distribution transitioned from CD to MP3 in the early 00s, and suddenly music could be shared freely online, RIP Napster. Then, in the 2010s, Spotify revolutionized streaming music.

Now AI tools, like Jukebox AI, are about to create another revolution. AI tools are coming onto the market that can generate fairly convincing original music. Granted, it’s not going to win any Mercury Prizes yet, but it is conceivable that before too long, AI music could be generated for us personally, on the fly, based on our favourite artists.

We could be close to having personalized Spotify playlists linked to our wearable tech, which reflect our mood and exercise goals. Feeling lethargic? Just have your Fitbit tell Spotify to pump up the BPM.

What next?

This blog has given a glimpse of some industries that will be impacted by AI, but it’s only scratched the surface. New AI tools are being realized every week, and systems like Chat GPT have grown faster than any other technology product ever. Over the coming months and years, every industry will need to be thinking about its AI strategy, where AI supports the work they do, and where humans will need to remain in control.
